Biographical Profile of Rev. Jerome Lee, Jr., M. Div.

Reverend Jerome LeeReverend Jerome Lee, Jr. is a native of Hampton, Virginia.  He is the proud son of Mr. Jerome Lee, Sr. and Mrs. Sandra Y. Packett.  He has one brother, Jeffery H. Lee.  He is married to the former Cynthia J. Adkins of Cheriton, Virginia.

Reverend Lee attended schools in the Hampton City Public School System, graduating from Hampton High School.  He later attended Thomas Nelson Community College for two years.  Reverend Lee continued his education at the James P. Boyce College of the Bible of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he earned both a Certificate and Diploma in Christian Ministry.  All was accomplished while he was employed full time at the City of Hampton Public works, where he served 14 years of dedicated service.

Prior to God calling him to the pastorate, Rev. Lee was a faithful member of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Newport News, where he served as Minister of New Adults and teacher of the New Adult Church School class.  He also taught Vacation Bible School and congregational Bible Study.  He proudly completed and graduated from the Gethsemane Baptist Church Bible Institute, where he also served as teacher.  In addition, he faithfully served terms as Vice President and Chaplin of the Gospel Choir and as auxiliary coordinator.

In June 1995, upon confirmation from the Lord through prayer, Rev. Lee accepted his call to ministry and preached his initial sermon on February 25, 1996.  It was then that he was licensed by Gethsemane Baptist Church.  He was ordained on August 21, 1999.

Birthed out the womb of Gethsemane Baptist Church, under the leadership of Dr. Dwight Riddick, in June 1999 Rev. Jerome Lee, Jr. was called to pastor Shiloh Baptist Church in Painter, VA.  He served on the Accomack County School Health Advisory Board in 2001.

He is the former Second Vice Moderator of the Eastern Shore Virginia – Maryland Baptist Association.  Pastor Lee is a graduate of Samuel D. Proctor School of Theology Virginia Union University, where he received his Masters of Divinity Degree in May 2005.  Pastor Lee has aspirations of returning to graduate school in the near future to receive his Doctorate Degree in Ministry.

Currently Pastor Lee is a member of the Lott Carey Baptist Foreign Mission Pastoral Excellence Program.  Through this program his ministry will expand internationally as he travels to Jamaica, Zimbabwe, Africa, and Guyana.

Pastor Lee is an anointed preacher, teacher and leader.  Because he is also a visionary, several ministries have been initiated and successfully implemented under his leadership and direction.

Philippians 2:13 inspire Pastor Lee: “for it is God who works in you both to will and do for His good pleasure.”  As he continues to yield his mind and resources to God, eyes hath not seen nor ears heard, neither has it entered into the hearts of man, the things that God hath prepared for them that love Him.
